Same here, lived i Louisiana for 65 years until we moved to Texas last year, never saw water like this along US 61

I don't think the river sand will hold. It will just wash away. They sould have used hesco baskets. I have lived in Montz for almost 65 years and this is the highest I've ever seen the water.
