Sunset on the Mississippi River at the Bonnet Carre' Spillway

This reminds me of a scene in the book and movie "Out of Africa" when Juma told his mistress (the lady who owned the place) that "this River don't live here, it lives down there and needs to go down there."
It just keeps coming and will stay this high for several more weeks in spite of all the Spillway openings.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Fantastic sunset. That water does look high but this scene is very peaceful. V.

Water water everywhere, nice image Coleen.
Has the high river done any damage now that all the spillways are open?.

a beautiful sunset afterglow over the swathe of water.
It's been on our News over here. I hope everyone stays safe and that the evacuated are soon able to return to their homes.
