Lower Ninth Ward

THE END

This is part of a gallery. Please see and read the rest.
Taken on a calm day with beautiful skies in May, 2010, who would know, unless you see for yourself, the fury that was unleashed in the early morning hours of August 29, 2005, when the levees of this canal broke and billions of gallons of water rushed into the neighborhoods of the Lower Ninth Ward, sweeping away houses, drowning people and changing thousands of lives forever.

The "geat wall" near paris road is supposed to take the brunt of future storm surges that would impact this area. at $1.3 billion it had better.
