Holy Cross School - Abandoned

New Orleans

The all boys school that had been the cornerstone of the area for 187 years was ordered closed by the EPA and FEMA. All the buildings were demolished except this building which is the original school. The Holy Cross School built anew on Paris Avenue in Gentilly far from the Mississippi River where its founders had settled.
My father was a boarder in this very building in the late 1800's-early 1900's as a student and my three sons and grandson were students here as well.. My spirit will always remain with this particular building.
The grounds are surrounded by a high fence. The neighborhood surrounding it is known as the Historical Holy Cross District.
