The Mississippi River has been unseasonably high for several months now. Today the water was rushing rapidly through the spaces in the locks and into the canals leading to Lake Pontchartrain.
With the vast amount of snow in the northern parts of the United States the Mississippi River will rise even higher in a few months.
The steam is rising from Entergy's Lil Gysy Generating Station in Montz, Louisiana.
