The Third Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward

This nice old gentleman came to cut the grass (jungle) on the lot where his house stood before the floodwaters from the broken levees during Hurricane Katrina washed it away. He told us he is selling the lot and did we want to buy it.
This was once a thriving residential neighborhood.
He now lives in Harvey, Louisiana.
I feel so sorry for him. There are thousands of stories like this.

Hurricane Gustav is headline news here. All our thoughts are with you and the people of New Orleans. Take care, and let us know you are safe!
