Odyssey

Vancouver, BC

Felt like a journey into some futuristic place… the Odysseo tent peeking to the almighty pipes of the sky…, the city off in the distance. To capture the leaning stacks (yes they are leaning) and still get the tent in the frame, I made several attempts with my tripod at pretty much full extension(s). With the camera up so high and pointed a bit downward, my hands could barely reach the camera controls and to see what I was getting was a bit challenging…. oh to be just a bit taller!

Fantastic image of those otherworldly looking structures. The long exposure effect on the smoke reminds me of Michael Kenna's night pictures of the nuclear power plant. V

An excellent capture of this most impressive facility. Light and exposure are perfect. V.

Great job Carol despite the vertical challenge...I very much like the composition and the exposure is terrific.
The long shutter speed really accentuates the smoke well. With a lower tripod, I was unable to keep the railing out
of the frame and hence had to cheat by doing a bit of cropping on my image. ~V~

you certainly rose to the challenges here...the power plant's stacks, with their alluring LEDs, look so immediate, and the backdrop is fascinating...skillful, and resourceful photography Carol...V
