The City of Refuge at Pu'uhonua O Honaunau is one of my favorite places to rest and reflect.
It is especially beautiful on early mornings and late evenings, when the surrounding scene is
bathed with beautiful light. Here, the majestic tiki statues and huts of the City of Refuge
emerge in all their majesty during a vibrant twilight often visible on a clear winter day in Hawaii.
This long exposure was captured on a particularly colorful sky taken 20 minutes after sunset.
Colors at twilight emerge exquisitely during long photographic captures, necessitating patience and a steady tripod.
