Went to the National Arboretum in NE DC (part of US Dept. of Agriculture) to look for the nest used by "Mr. President," "The First Lady,""Freedom" and "Liberty." (See American Eagle Foundation website, plus www.dceaglecam.org for more information on their fabulous partnership with the Arboretum and others.)
After an hour or so of hiccups (mostly walking down a path from the wrong parking area), I found the nest tree. After more hiccups trying to find the actual tree, not just a view of it, I found the tree - practically under my nose the whole time. I took some pictures, and then went exploring around parts of the Arboretum. It's mid summer and not much was blooming, but I can tell it will be a fabulous place in late October and then again in the spring. I also saw the fantastic "Capitol Columns" - 22 columns which used to be part of the U.S. Capitol.
