We woke up May 12 in Bodrum, a popular Turkish resort city with an active nightlife. We looked outside and found we were docked alongside a huge superyacht. Google told me it was owned by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE, whose net worth is around 38 billion USD. The superyacht has 24 cabins for 48 people, with a crew of 80.
I took an Oceania excursion to Bafa Lake and Howard took one to see the castle on the other side of city. It's hard to describe Bafa Lake with its 5th century BC ruins, but the whole excursion provided a satisfying mix of ruins, nature, good food, and interesting scenery.
