Spider Wasp

Family Pompilidae

This hyperactive wasp was crawling up my leg and I saw that it was carrying something.
Turns out it had stung and paralyzed a female wolf spider that was carrying a clutch of spiderlings on her abdomen.
The wasp will stash the spider in a burrow or other cavity which will then serve as food for its single offspring.
Gruesome stuff!
