Yellowstone National Park

This grizzly bear was one of a pair that had been feeding earlier on a bison carcass. After feeding, this bear, the smaller of the two, began chasing a female merganser up and down the river just below the bench we were standing on. She never caught it but seemed determined to harass it as long as she could. The fact that the merganser did not just fly off made us think that she may have had young nearby that she was trying to keep the bear from locating by distracting her.
