Soon after the excitement of having a black bear show up right behind us, this least chipmunk mother and her youngster popped up out of some rocks in front of me. The baby was trying its hardest to keep up with its mother and was so cute that I couldn't stop photographing them. She finally stopped long enough for the baby to get a little nursing in and it was amazing to see how gentle she was with her baby. Such a joy to watch!
