This photo shows the upper slopes of Bear Glacier as seen from Glacier Highway on the way to Stewart and Hyder, AK.

After having stayed at Meziadin Lake I decided to visit the small towns of Stewart and Hyder which are accessible from the Stewart-Cassiar Highway via the 64 kilometres(40 miles) long Glacier Highway. This detour is well worth taking as it offers some spectacular views of several hanging glaciers and the impressive Bear Glacier which extends nearly all the way down to the road.
