Joe Guay Trophy

Joe Guay Trophy
Retired after 28 Years in Competition

Donated in 1978 by Mr. Joe Guay, Councilor and Member of Parliament from St. Boniface (now deceased).

The winner of The Joe Guay Trophy was the member who had the most points after four hours of competition. Four hours was the time allotted for this trophy as well as five other trophies – A.J. Seys, Al’s Jewellers, J.S. Mozol, Kleysen’s Cartage and Les Sutton. It did not include special shootings (ie. annual inter-club competition or prize shootings).

Joe Guay sponsored Robin Hood in 1978 with the donation of his trophy. Many thanks to Mr. Guay for his generous contribution.

The Joe Guay Trophy was retired at the end of the 2005 season and replaced with the Paul Chitty Trophy http://www.pbase.com/robinhoods/image/161715168

This is one of the biggest trophies I've ever seen in Joe's name! It's crazy how long this trophy was in action. That's over twenty-five years! I love how big the middle metal cup is for this trophy. How heavy is this beast?
