This is the very ornate entrance to the Museo Municipal (Municipal Museum).

This museum focuses on the history of the city of Madrid. Its collection included paintings and
models depicting what Madrid was like in the past. I enjoyed the museum, but I was glad that I
had waited until November to visit it. The descriptions of artifacts did not give detailed
information about the city, so it was nice that I had learned some about the history of Spain in
government class before visiting this museum.

This museum also had a great gift shop with souvenirs related specifically to Madrid. It was a
good place to find gifts for my aunt who collects pencils.
