I came across this plaque when I wandering through the Catedral de Tui. It was place there
either during or in preparation of the year 2000. I think that Pope John Paul II actually visited
this place. The plaque is in Latin. It displays the saying Jubilee 2000 Christ Yesterday, Today,
and Forever. This saying was displayed in many Catholic churches in preparation for the year
2000. I remember seeing it at my home parish in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. As part of the
Jubilee the pope opened a special door at St. Peter's basilica in Rome. Our church kept one door
closed for the year leading up to 2000 so that it could be opened on Christmas just like the one in
Rome.
