Olympic Village 1

Barcelona, Spain

After climbing back down from Sagrada Familia, my family and I took the subway to the Olympic Village. I was excited to visit an Olympic village because I have always enjoyed watching the Olympics on television and I can still remember watching the opening ceremonies for the Barcelona Summer Games in 1992.

When we arrived at the Olympic Village along the Mediterranean we found a great restaurant where we bought paella for lunch. Paella is a traditional Spanish dish. It is made in a special sort of frying pan. I has yellow rice that is flavored with a spice. This spice is made from a flower and it is very expensive outside of Spain. Paella traditional has shellfish and chicken on the top, but you can get it in a variety of flavors.
