After leaving Monument Valley, just outside of Kayenta, Arizona, I came across this scene where a thunderstorm had crossed about 15 minutes ahead of me. The hail was about 6" thick at this location where numerous vehicles had spun out in the roadside ditches. The Highway Patrol had traffic stopped for about 15 minutes after I got there until the hail turned to slush. Two miles down the highway it was bone dry.
