Zip-Fly

Uganda

Every year the citizens of southern Uganda are plagued by grasshoppers which are caught, eaten and considered a delicacy. With these useful insects though migrates the Nairobi Fly, a type of Rove Beetle which, when killed or threatened, releases a potent acid which first burns then irritates the skin leaving dry patches or at worst severe burns. This child might carry the effects on his face for three or four months without treatment.
