Barn Owl sleeping in conifer

Ed Levin Park, Milpitas, California

This Barn Owl was sleeping in the thick canopy of a conifer and was almost invisible to the naked eye. After it was pointed out to me, I was able to photograph it only by increasing the ISO to 1600 and opening the aperture to f/5.6.

Hello Ron,

It was great pleasure to have met you birding at Ed Levin Park. My name is Khai (aka Major_K at zenfoilio.com). Your wildlife porfoilio is wonderful, I really enjoyed the photo images. Continue your great work...

My friends and I did not capture the Allen's Hummingbird well at all. He is perching way too high to get qulaity pictures. We will be back to see and try to capture this beautiful bird. Most of what we see in our area are just Anna's hummingbirds, they are also pretty. I just want more species in my porfolio.

Great Owl picture! Hope you don't mind share the location spot. My email is kqnguyen@altera.com. Thanks.
