Blue-Beech trees are common along the shoreline of the Rideau River at the Baxter Conservation Area. This tree is otherwise uncommon in the Ottawa area.
I do think this is one of the best and prettiest and most unique trees we have. It is always a pleasure to see them. A fine photo of this trunk showing why it is known by its other name of musclewood.
