There is a patch of forest where I see a few Hepatica plants each year. They aren't very common, but this year, for some reason, they have undergone a bit of a population explosion in this patch of forest and they are hard to miss. Many, like this one, are of the blue variety. Normally I only see the white variety. For this photo I used my ring flash.
