During our stay in Nebraska, we made a quick trip to Rapid City for a few nights. We did a lot of back to school shopping for Norah and spent time in the water at Watiki, but also managed a few tourist activities. We loved perusing the art at Native POP's juried art show downtown (People of the Plains - A Gathering of Arts and Culture). I couldn't resist purchasing some beautiful earrings and artwork. We did the scenic tour at Jewel Cave (nearby Wind Cave was closed) and our favorite feature was the cave bacon. We also liked learning about the bats that live at the cave. We had a nice drive through Hill City, Custer (a rock shop for Norah), and Custer State Park on our way home.
