On our fourth day we had a change of pace and went white water rafting on the Colorado River through Westwater Canyon. The trip was 18 miles long, with the ten main rapids concentrated in a four mile stretch. Our raft was an oar boat with the guide paddling (which looked pretty strenous at times with the way the wind was blowing). The first half of the trip was a nice float down the river after which we stopped for lunch. After lunch we got our big safety talk ... what to do when in the boat, what to do if you or somebodyy else falls out, and what to do in the very UNLIKELY EVENT that your raft flips.
