Following the stairs was a good decision; they brought us to a wonderful view of the city. Castel San Pietro was built in 1398 and razed by the French in 1801. In the 1850s the Austrians built barracks here. The buildings are closed, but from the esplanade there is a wonderful panoramic view of the Roman Theater, Aidge River, and Verona.
