From this vantage point we had great views of the river, bridges, beach, and Bright Angel Canyon (location of the Bright Angel campground and Phantom Ranch). Once Norah saw the people on the beach (about 1200 feet below us) she was eager to keep hiking (we actually had to tell her to slow down). The bridge in this picture is called the Kaibab Suspension Bridge (commonly referred to as Black Bridge). It was built in the early 1920's (an impressive feat given the remote location!) and is about 70 feet above the river.
