This is the custom nitrous system control box built at Nitemare Performance. This box
integrates the nitrous system with the dual fuel systems such that a single switch
would open the nitrous bottle, switch on the nitrous bottle warmer and activate the
secondary high octane fuel system. This is a little more complicated to do than it
first appears as to open the bottle the valve needs a 1 second pulse to the opening
windings (leave the power on and it'll burn out as it is a very high power solenoid
that can only be intermittently energized) to close the bottle a similar pulse is
sent to the closing windings. This system does all this and more, the design includes
a built in energy reserve sufficient to close the bottle and shut down the nitrous
and secondary fuel system, if the battery drops below a predetermined voltage, thus if
the ignition is turned off or battery is disconnected the bottle is always closed even
if you left it on. The control box is mounted near the bottle and even if you were to
cut the wire giving it the power it would close the bottle. The net result you have the
system ready to go with a single arming switch, no having to manually open the bottle
no forgetting to close the bottle and finding your precious nitrous has leaked away as
all nitrous injector solenoids leak slowly. The box makes two pips of different tones
one to confirm the bottle is open the second to confirm its closed. It also indicates
its status via LEDs. It's not rocket science by any means... but it is the only one.
