A cow incongruously faces down a flock of pigeons in Jaipur’s old city The pigeons may rule the air, but they seem to gradually back down on the ground as the cow invades their space.
Glad to see that both you and Tim recognized the significance of the birds in flight here, Jenene. For Tim, they seem to be acknowledging the sacredness of the cow. For you, they are asserting their territorial imperative. They rule the air, while the cow rules the ground.
What an interesting image, Phil. At first I see the cow, head down, maintaining his stronghold, with the birds basically backing down. But when I look further, I see the two birds in flight, very focused on the cow, asserting their right (to whatever), and the cow acquiescing to the force of the birds.

That's the spiritual side of you coming out, Tim. I did not think of that at all until you mentioned it. I saw it as simply a territorial dispute, and in such an arena, the cow always wins.
