Wild Ageratum

Blooming time: Late July-October
Occurs: coastal plain, piedmont and mountains
Habitat: wet disturbed areas especially ditches
Common in the coastal plain, uncommon in piedmont, and rare in mountains
A wildflower with intense blue or purple flowers is an eye-catcher in the late
summer and fall season. This one I found along a roadside had reddish bronze leaves.
Typically it grows shorter with a bushy mounting habit and green leaves.
