Why I'm Cancelling Them

This morning the recycle bin ended up half way up the driveway. I heard it bouncing. Usually it's right next to the tote or in the snow. I had been thinking of changing trash pick up companies for awhile now. This was the final straw. I cancelled the big national company and went with a local one. I'm quirky about things like this.

One of the interesting, domestic differences I noted in my time in the States - you contract a waste company yourself. Here in Winnipfeg (note the 'f' in Winnipeg), our taxes get us a recycle bin as large as your rubbish bin.

On a brighter side to your shot Patti - you can see your blacktop!
Cheers

Service seems to be a dirty word now-days. We have a local trash pick-up and they have been quit good at being on time and doing a good job...

A agree 100%. Go with the local company. I find this very disrespectful.

The city picks our up and they have been very good about it over the years.....

I read with interest all these posts We take our own trash to the island transfer/recycle station and pay a per bag or piece charge. Our trash is removed off island by ferry by a mainland company when the dumpsters are full.

Nice to have a choice. We are stuck with which company the city chooses.

I sure know how you feel about damaged recycle bins. We don't have any choice. Our city handles garbage pick ups and cost is added to our property taxes. Once in a while we get this problem and have to get new containers at their cost.

I am with you! All they have to offer is service and they don't seem to understand that...

Can't say that I blame you! We only have the District, but I'm happy enough with them. When we were moving back in, they hauled away a huge number of boxes filled with packing paper for weeks, and I greatly appreciated that.

We don't have a choice but luckily they do a pretty good job. I might find it down the street on very windy days however. Maybe that's why it has been upside down lately, it can't slide very well that way. Good luck and hope they do a better job for you!
