As a result of the bright midday sunlight reflecting off the iridescent colors I found this bird difficult to photograph ... the iridescent blue on the upper head caused the upper part of the head to take on a black color and hide the eyes ... it took some time and a number photos prior to obtaining the desired glint from the eye.
