To ensure my vision for the penny farthing is going to look right and fit together properly, I have created a 3D model of my design. This was done in AC3D rather than a CAD program simply because I have worked with 3D modelling before. Each component I need to machine, however, will be created in the model exactly as I need to machine it. This includes any details required for assembly, accomodating jigs, and subassemblies that will later be welded into one piece. While not visible in this 3D view, the gridlines in all orthogonal views in this gallery are 1" major gridlines and 1/8" minor gridlines.
