Adults have white spots (lacking in juveniles) on the subterminal band on the inner web of the outermost tail feathers, and white bars (spots in juveniles) on the inner most teritial feathers. Plus the tips of adult feathers tend to be rounded. This was an Adult Owl that was banded.
