The very dark facial discs on this GGO made it stand out and the best guess is that it has some extra pigment. This bird was seen and photographed by a few people this past January on back to back days. Many attempts to relocate it failed. Both days seen were around sunset so it may simply have been a matter of the bird hunting at night and roosting in an area we werent aware of.
