To disassemble the front lens cell, soften the lacquer seals with toluene or lacquer thinner.
Wrap a piece of friction tape around the front retainer, and loosen counter clockwise.
There are only 2 elements in the front cell. The large front element will come out while the rear is retained by a "peened over" edge of the metal cell assembly.
