I took a motorcycle trip over to San Marcos / Escondido, California to get fitted for some protective riding gear and to catch
a bit of the wildflower super bloom. Some areas were blanketed in acres and acres of wildflowers both in California and Arizona.
It was a quick trip, covering 1,185 miles in 2 days. Lots of nice scenery for the first day and a half, then the last half of
the second day of the trip was a boring ride on interstate highways at night. I want to go back to the areas northeast
of San Diego because there were lots of scenic roads that made for some great motorcycle riding.
Below, stopping on the Imperial Highway outside of Ocotillo, California to catch a pic of a wind farm. I saw lots of solar and
wind farms on this trip which was a welcome change to the oil and gas fracking that was everywhere on the New Mexico trip
with PBasers Marcia Rules, David Ingram, and Dan Greenberg the previous month.
One of the downsides to riding a motorcycle in the Spring (and Summer months) is the onslaught of insects. Below, the windscreen
about 520 miles into the first day's ride, and what it looked like after being cleaned and then another 525 miles on the second day.
