False Kiva

Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky, UT

False Kiva is a Class 2 archeological site in Canyonlands NP. I was lucky to have a fellow Tucsonan
post a picture of this site, taken only three days prior to this shot. Had it not been for his post
on Flickr I would not have known about this fantastic place, and would have missed the opportunity to
photograph this gorgeous view. Not the easiest of places to find because the Park tries to keep from
publicizing the location in order to protect the site. We asked for directions at the Visitor Center,
which is what I recommend for anyone interested in visiting this special place.

This is my second attempt at an HDR image. I think my first attempt is actually better, photographed
from a different perspective. That image can be seen below (you can click on it for a larger view):

I am not a fisheye guy but this shot may change my mind. I like the eccentric circles/ovals within the overall circular view. Nicely done!

Outstanding, Sam! I love the composition and the way the roundness of the fish eye emphasizes that of the kiva and the cave opening. I would say your HDR could not be much better. Certainly worth the hike up there. ~VVV~
