The big city, such a strange place. So many people, yet each person feels alone. These two men waiting for the light to turn green, each feeling his own sorrows, yet neither willing to even say hi to the other, they just stand awkwardly next to each other, with nothing to say. We live amongst so many people, yet remain alone in our own world.

I just love the composition, the color tone and the background pattern. It's a beautiful picture with or without narrative or thoughts.

I agree with the others -- you've captured a poignant moment here. The way you cropped this certainly adds to that mood -- the high wall and the low pole make the men seem very small in stature and one gets the impression they must feel that way themselves.

Hmm,how poignant; you've really caught something here. Its something we see often but rarely photograph. The bright and cheery green background seems to be in stark contrast to their lives, but who really knows?

Paul, this is really powerful, the image AND the message. You so clearly show what is unfortunately all too common these days! I also love the way you cropped it, the green wall is gorgeous. Very nicely done, (as always!)

Well observed photo and poignant caption.

I chat to the checkout girls in the supermarkets and they say that so many people just grunt at them.
