In spite of the teared down small street temple, people still pray to their favorite God.

What once was typical of Madurai, all those small temples coloring the streets, is gone.

Because many of them were never registered and build on government property,
high court decided to clear out all these temples obstructing the growing traffic as they were sometimes build almost in the middle of the road.
Traffic bumpers will reduce speeding now.
