The light on the floor is a great counterpoint to the warm interior lighting.

The photo leads me into it, back down the long aisle to that distant window. The illumination is soft and lovely. Despite its massive proportions, I would not feel overwhelmed in such a cathedral.

Wonderful symmetry and lighting, love the gentle light on the pews.

A pathway to the altar. The subtle illumination from the stained glass window spotlighting the central aisle is remarkable. The light reflecting from the upper arches and above them adds a wonder warmth feeling to this majestic church.

Always I find a little threatening these huge cathedrals, but very fascinating at the same time because its play of soft lights and shadows. You have caught very well this atmosphere in these two photos, Marc.
Shirley: I think this photo is taken pointing to the backside of the hall, hence the lack of altar, pulpit or similar. endika

I'm wondering what this big hall is used for? It doesn't seem to be the sanctuary because I can't really see a pulpit up front. You'll have to forgive my lack of church knowlege. I went to small little country type churches with maybe a dozen and a half pews on either side of an isle. HA, a far cry from this place!

But then again this one is very strong too, love the way the light is picking out the flagstones and the cloisters are dark and secrative
