The Great Wall - Christa (cnb)

It's not true that you can see it from the moon, but it's still quite a mark on the land!

The Mother of all Landmarks....yes indeed.

Wonderful, very atmospheric - I'm jealous now....!
There was a great documentary on tv recently about why and how the wall was built and how the corruption in government eventually allowed the Mongols to ride right into China and take over, at least for a while.

Thanks Dennis and Bruce. I'm not sure what it was: mist or smog. Probably mist, because this stretch of the Wall is quite far away from Beijing. Parts of the Wall here are crumbling, making the 8km hike we went on a very sweaty business! But there were hardly any tourists (this was our group plus another family), which is a big bonus of choosing the more arduous stretch.

Yes I would like to visit here one day too. Very nice shot, I like the perspective and the use of the conditions. (is it mist or smog?)

I'd love to see this one day Christa. Nice, misty shot.
