A nice graphic detail has been chosen here. I would have preferred that the subject be placed more to the left to avoid such a centered composition. You have used what is called "selective focusing" to keep the viewers attention where you want it, which is on the pipe. By using the proper focusing, you've created a background that is soft and does not detract from the subject. A simple placement to the left would make a strong image even stronger.
