A Break In The Clouds - Oconoluftee View

On the two mornings that my son and I drove up to the Oconoluftee parking lot for sunrise, the conditions looked anything but promising. We had thick fog one morning and scattered rain on the other. Both mornings we were rewarded with some brief openings in the weather. Patience payed off by staying and waiting to see what would happen. It was a wonderful break form the isolation of the pandemic.

These shafts of light are glorious!I love works like that that are beautiful to look at but are actually much more.
Something that one can feel and get lost in.

delicate light indeed, and notable how the angles in the sky play with the soft shapes of the hills...a refined touch at work here...V

The waiting does not always pan out but you stuck gold this time that light breaking through and kissing the landscape as if a message was sent to the photographers you waited and I delivered.
Nice detail and a beautiful atmosphere with excellent composition.
