Rim Rock Formations At Horseshoe Bend, Arizona

This is a late evening capture of some of the rim rock formations at Horseshoe Bend in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Arizona. This image was taken as we waited for the sun to set over Horseshoe Canyon. We were shooting almost directly into the sun at sunset so photographing the canyon became a little easier once the sun set behind the distant mountains. It was a good time to explore and check out the area.

there is a subtle dynamism to the way the tiers of sand settled here...top drawer composition too, to pack the frame with interest...V
