The Road To The Totem Pole And Yei Bi Chei, Monument Valley

There have been a number of news stories relating to how hard the Covid 19 pandemic has hit the Navajo Nation. So much of their history and customs are passed down generation to generation from their elders in verbal form and the pandemic has hit this group especially hard. I fear that an important part of their beautiful culture could be lost. I have a special place in my heart for the Navajo based on my visits to the Navajo Nation and the kindness I have always felt from them. I also have a good friend who is a Navajo photography guide. I hope you are safe and well Ray. I wanted to post an image that captures the beauty of the Tribal Park in Monument Valley.

Excellent point of view on Monument Valley and a nice tribute to your buddy.
Excellent entrance to the scene as well an exit that takes the eye to the massive rock formations.
Great clouds blending with the blue sky makes the shot amazing.

yes the Dine are a kind people, warm hearted and fun-loving....the news of their suffering from Covid-19 is distressing indeed...alas they are yet another minority group experiencing infections and deaths disproportionate to their population size, and enduring yet again little help from governments...hopefully their rich traditions remain intact in the future...admire your image, and the memories it brings back..
