Due to the direction of the setting sun, Horseshoe Bend is difficult to photograph at sunset. The canyon and river bend is mostly shadowed when the sun is near setting. I was looking for a different angle and approach to photograph Horseshoe Bend when I saw Paul standing on the rock taking photographs. The light caught my eye and I liked that it was a different angle than most images of Horseshoe Bend that I have seen.
