At one time this steam locomotive (#611) was the flagship of Norfolk and Western RR which is now known as Norfolk & Southern. This is an image of this locomotive on an excursion following it's complete restoration. I painted this image from a photograph I shot as the this steam excursion came out of the tunnel at a place called Den Hill in Montgomery County, Virginia. The steam and smoke obscuring most to the cars in this excursion seemed to be an analogy for this engine returning from the mists of history. This engine's current home is at the Transportation Museum in Roanoke, Virginia. SOLD
