Bamboo Illusion

I wanted to create a natural abstract from a scene in the Bamboo Grove at the San Diego Botanic Garden. The idea was to use the lines, colors and light of the Grove to create an illusion of the bamboo, without the details you would get in a documentary shot. To accomplish this I used a technique called “intentional camera movement” where I moved the camera in a vertical sweeping motion while releasing a burst of shutter releases. It took a lot of tries, but I eventually got a couple of captures I was pleased with. Here is one of them.
