"Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed" at North Carolina Museum of Art -- October 2013

"Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed" was the first automotive design exhibition of the North Carolina Museum of Art, in Raleigh. It opened on Oct. 12, 2013, and was originally scheduled to run until Jan. 20, 2014, but was extended through Feb. 2, 2014. It was made up of 22 historically significant examples of Porsche design and engineering. These exceptional, rare or one-of-a-kind cars were displayed courtesy of private collectors from all over the United States, as well as of two German institutions -- the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and the Automuseum Prototyp in Hamburg.

I viewed the exhibit with dozens of fellow Porsche Club of America members from Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Mississippi on Oct. 27, the day after about 20 of us attended evening cocktails and a prearranged tour of the Ingram Collection's awesome private museum in Durham, NC. We were joined on both days by legendary Porsche racing driver Vic Elford, who flew in from Florida and gave a fascinating talk at the museum to about 60 PCA members. The two-day fall foliage and museum tour was organized by the Shenandoah (VA) and Blue Ridge (VA) regions of the PCA, superbly led by Sherry Westfall, Shenandoah president.

This place really does a superb job of displaying their cars. They gave them a lot of space and great lighting. Wonderful captures A. ~VVV~
